Italians are fucking mental.

Whilst Glaswegians dole out exotic levels of passionate mayhem.

So please meet Marco Bernardi. A hybrid of these two energies and one of the most boisterous sonic sorcerers to forge epic, lysergic towers of sound since Ron Hardy blew people’s skulls off two decades ago in The Warehouse.

As a studious pupil examining the hypnotic aesthetic of Chicago House, the intricate structures of Detroit Techno, the varied minimalism of Europe and the relentless fervour still uncontainable across Britain on a Friday night - Bernardi has more in his pipe than most could muster.

Bernardi has been releasing searing electronic sounds for the dance floor via Soma, Clone, Frustrated Funk and Submerge and over the last five years his pedigree has clearly presented itself. Hurl in seminal sets at all the best clubs round Europe; from London’s Fabric, to Barcelona’s Loft and back up to Glasgow’s Sub Club and you can appreciate how he’s been refining his sound to become uniquely lazer sharp. Every performance has seen him develop his analogue adventure growing into a truly creative margin made by himself - for only himself to inhabit.

Sounding like press release hyperbole?

Then let’s have some facts.

His debut LP on Soma entitled ‘2 fiveonine’ got 4/5 in Mixmag as IDJ, DJ Mag AND M8 all labelled it: ‘Album of the Month’. Laurent Garnier described it as ‘Beautiful’ before DJ 3000 didn’t hesitate in licensing a track for his mix. Finally dance bible DJ Mag didn’t hold back at all proclaiming it: ‘The BEST Album of 2007’.

Booya!

Yet one year later and things are jacked up even further. No slouching now!

Continued over….

Back with his second album wonkily named Gindofask; Bernardi has stoked his inventive fires then tempered his differing flames to succinctly tether his full range of sounds and influences into a coherent electronic long player. No mean feat in this age of particularly developed scenes and rinsed ideas.

With remixes forthcoming from Orlando Voorn, Convextion,2562 and Redshape there’s going to be no relaxing in this man’s ascent. Bernardi has also just delivered new albums for Clone,s Frustrated funk and Dublins Nice and Nasty labels plus a 4 track release on Dutch imrpint Creme/Bunker and a huge release forthcoming on none other than Orlando Voorn,s Nightvision label. this man does not stop!!!

His analogue dreams are kinetic and sizzling with revelation. Disseminating the past history of electronic music whilst segueing it with his own warped hallucination of the future, Bernardi achieves a rare trick: restoring your faith in a once exhausted sound by developing and burning into your dancing mind his own sound dragged up within a vastly crowded, jaded and jostling genre.

The future just got better.
